Lava Café Bar is the latest edition to the developing Castlefield Basin. Opened in 2005 this independent venue has a lot to offer. A large and varied menu means you can enjoy a croissant with your morning coffee, a full English breakfast at weekends, a light snack at lunch or a dinner over a few drinks with friends in the evening. Or why not try chef Luciano's famous pizza's named after volcano's around the world, and reflecting the influences of that region. From a Scottish Pizza with Haggis & Black Pudding, to an Indian one with Masala sauce, Chicken Tikka and Onion Bhaji, or more traditional Spicy Mexican Pizza. After only being open for a short period it is a must with the local residents and workers alike. Regularly seeing presenters from Key 103 relaxing after a hard day behind the decks!? Even the odd special guest has been known to pop in, recently seeing Liberty X having an orange juice with Mike Toolan. Lava Café Bar has a 'Local' feel to it, a place to go where everybody knows your name..I feel a song coming on. Great food, good service all at a reasonable price set in a venue that feels like someone's living room, this is what Manchester has been missing..until now. The aim of Lava is to be..well..exactly what it is achieving now and it can only get better! |
